Founded in 1982 under its original name, Schnurpfeils, Petite Sorbonne Preschool boasts a distinguished legacy of educational excellence that continues to thrive today.

The Story of June & Minh

When June and Minh welcomed their first daughter, Masako, into the world, they were like any anxious parents, searching diligently for the perfect preschool. Initially turned away from their first choice due to full enrollment, they were redirected to Schnurpfeils, a local residential preschool. Uncertain about this recommendation, June and Minh decided to take a leap of faith and visit the school. From the moment they met the owners, saw the facility for what it was, and meeting the current children and staff, it became clear to them that Schnurpfeils was the answer to their prayers, offering a nurturing and enriching environment that they knew their daughter would thrive in.

From that fateful visit, June and Minh became steadfast supporters of Schnurpfeils. They were so enamored with the school that when the owners eventually retired, June made the bold decision to leave her long-standing job at the DMV and take over the preschool, just as their second daughter, Midori, was born. Supported by her husband Minh, a software engineer, June wasted no time immersing herself in the world of early childhood development, undertaking extensive studies to enhance her knowledge and skills. Thus, Petite Sorbonne Preschool became established.

And now, with over 30 years in the childcare business, June and Minh have become pivotal figures in the lives of countless local families, offering hundreds of children a solid foundation for their futures. They raised their own two daughters with the same values they strived to instill in every child who walked through the doors of Petite Sorbonne Preschool. Their profound love for children and their commitment to valuing family above all else are enduring legacies that remain evident today. Their journey together has been marked by significant milestones and challenges, none more devastating than Minh's unexpected passing in 2015. Despite this heartbreaking loss, June has found strength in her deep affection for the school and its community. Her unwavering dedication and passion continue to drive her forward, ensuring that Petite Sorbonne Preschool remains a beacon of excellence and a cherished second home for generations of children.
