We thank everyone of the PSP community for your love, care, and support during this hard time. As some of you may already know, we found out that Teacher June has cancer. :O( It's been a tiring and difficult ordeal for her and her family, but she strives to fight her battle to carry on the spirit of PSP. We are hoping for the best, and a quick recovery for her! We love you so much, Teacher June!
Here is a final note from Teacher June herself: "As many of you know, about a year and a half ago, we, unexpectedly, lost our beloved Teacher Minh, my husband, our girls’ father, a dear and loved friend to all. It was such a shock and continues to be a sadness that we carry with us. However, it has been through your continuous and constant love and support that our girls and I have pulled through the saddest and darkest of days. The love and hugs from your children have helped make sad times happy again, for which we are eternally grateful. Well, on a sad note, there was some bad news on my recent ObGyn appointment in this month and I will need to take some time off for surgery and recovery (scheduled for the week of June 12th). Unfortunately, cancer cells are brutal and though it is expected that I make a full recovery, one never knows. But, in the meantime, I want to reassure you all that your children will continue to be in good hands, with or without my presence. Wonderful Teachers Vanessa and Midori will keep things running smoothly at PSP during my absence. In addition, we have wonderful, loving teachers who will come in to help out, such as Teacher Tien (yes – Avery and Alex’ mom is a fully licensed teacher) and some others, such as some PSP alums – all who know the program and understand your children very well. I thank you all in advance for your continued love and support for this next battle. I’m confident that things will go well and I look forward to seeing all of your children’s happy faces upon my return. " Love, Teacher June and family This is a fun and colorful art project that our children did for Valentine's Day!
Step 1: After cutting tissue paper into squares, use modge podge (or a compatible glue substance that will dry clearly) and let children glue down tissue paper! Ideally, try to fill up the middle of the paper! Step 2: Cut out heart shape in the middle of black paper. Step 3: Glue both pieces of paper together. Step 4: Voilà! This project hangs nicely in a frame, on the wall, or even on a window (the sun shines through the tissue paper beautifully!)!! Look at these Handprint Ghosts! Each child made a handprint, we cut them out, added some eyes, a mouth, and a string in the back to hang! These are happy, friendly ghosts! Booooooo!
Learning about Outer Space has been totally OUT OF THIS WORLD!! We have been talking with our children about the solar system. There are so many fun activities to expand your child's creativity with Outer Space!!! Love, Teacher June We made hats to celebrate the 4th of July!! Also, our children did such fabulous jobs coloring in the American flag!!!
Also, Happy Summer Break!! We hope you have a wonderful time off spending it with family and friends! We'll see you all soon! School resumes on Monday, July 11th!! :O) Love, Teacher June, Teacher Vanessa, and Teacher Midori Our Father's Day art projects have been so fun and really beautiful - all for our wonderful Dads!! Our children have been working hard, expressing their love for their wonderful fathers and important males!!!
Even though there are so many different ways to say "Dad," they all mean the same thing -- that Dads are so important in the lives of children!!! Our Dads do such a wonderful job being great Dads!!!! We love you all!! Happy Father's Day to all of our wonderful DADs!!!!!!!! More fresh, school-grown apricots for all to enjoy!!! Yum!! :-) There may be fresh jam coming soon, too!!! :-)
Love, Teacher June GAK?? We made GAK today!!!
What is GAK?? It's a Silly Putty-like creation, which is fun to play with! It is simply made with glue, water, and Borax (laundry soap). It's a fun, science based project and has a rubbery texture!! It's awesome because you can stretch it, pull it, bounce it, make things with it, and more!! :O) Love, Teacher June Show and Tell Day was so much fun! Everyone did a great job with their special item!!
